About the Role

The Project Manager will plan and lead small to medium size projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Coordination of team members and third-party contractors is required in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will adhere to the methodologies and best practices as set forth by the company’s Project Management Office through all phases of project initiation, planning, execution, and closure. For System Selection Projects, the project manager will elicit requirements and lead the system evaluation process to ensure appropriate systems are selected.


A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

  • Project Execution: Execute plans and coordinate with team members to complete the project according to scope, on time, and within budget. Communicate with project team members regularly through team meetings, documented minutes, and weekly status reports. Manage and update changes to project documentation, such as, the budget, schedule, and decision log. Identify and manage project risks and issues and work with impacted areas to reach a resolution. Follow procedures for scope changes if required. Comply with change management policies for project related changes. Effectively negotiate with project stakeholders and team members to drive project delivery to a successful completion.
  • Project Planning: Apply a rigorous project management discipline following the project management procedures. Develop and maintain detailed project plans (scope, requirements, success criteria, and dependencies), budgets, and schedules for small or medium projects in collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders. Identify and request needed resources and estimate their work efforts. Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks and prepare contingency plans. Obtain project sponsor signoff on planning documentation where required.
  • System Selection: Guide stakeholders through system selection processes such as: requirements definition, Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), demos, reference checks, vendor due diligence, and solution evaluation. Document all project decisions during the vendor selection process.
  • Project Closure: Finalize project schedule, budget, and documentation, and make certain all requirements are met. Effectively handle the transition from project to daily operation with the functional areas and obtain project sponsor sign off. Document lessons learned for inclusion with post implementation review.
  • IT Governance: Adheres to information security policies and promotes information security within IT and among the banks. Supports the use of project management by contributing to project teams, completing assigned responsibilities by established milestone dates, and effectively communicating with the project team. Supports and promotes the use of ITIL governance processes, including incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management. Ensures that change orders are submitted for all changes made to the production environment, and that tasks are worked in a timely manner.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.

About You





  1. Minimum of 3 years experience as a project manager or applicable experience required.
  2. Working knowledge of project management software preferred.
  3. Prior banking experience preferred.




  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience is desireable.
  2. PMP certification desired.

  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies, techniques, and procedures.
  • Skilled in the development of project plans, work breakdown structures, and project schedules.
  • Strong project risk management skills.
  • Excellent customer skills.
  • Familiarity with the ITIL Best Practices and ITIL Change Management desired.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.


Must be capable of occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.


Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.


Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
