About the Role

Mountain West Bank is in search of a motivated, client focused Real Estate Clerk for our Adverse Action Desk .This position is primarily responsible for reviewing, analyzing and processing adverse action loans within company guidelines, regulatory policies and timelines under the general guidance of the Loan Review Manager. Understands HMDA rules and regulations and ensures compliance for both decline/withdrawn and closed loans. This position may be responsible for reviewing and processing disclosure documentation.  This position will be located in Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure adverse action loans are processed in a timely and accurate manner.

     

  • Review and correct adverse files as needed. Work with and guide staff to understand and mitigate discrepancies within the file.

     

  • Track all errors to identify trends and provide comprehensive feedback to Loan Review Manager.

     

  • Recommend areas for improvement in procedures and practices to Loan Review Manager.

     

  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Must be client focused, hold confidentiality in the highest regard, have a technical capacity, be thorough and communicate proficiently.

 

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

     

  • Minimum 2 years experience in loan review or related field

     

  • Ability to multi-task and handle complex tasks efficiently.  Strong organizational skills

     

  • Strong analytical skills

     

  • Ability to use independent judgement

     

  • Strong attention to detail

     

  • Working knowledge of mortgage loan program guidelines, underwriting and regulatory requirements and the mortgage loan manufacturing process

     

  • Knowledge of and experience with RESPA/TRID compliant disclosures and HMDA compliance adverse action requirements strongly preferred.

     

  • Proficiency in Ellie Mae Encompass Software and the ability to learn additional computer applications

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Two (2) years experience as a Loan Review Specialist, or Loan Assistant at MBW.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
