About the Role
NOTE: Deadline has been extended to Monday, October 28; position will be based in Corvallis.
Position performs work associated with handling account transactions and provides new accounts services as needed. Provide outstanding service while accurately performing account transactions. Position uses knowledge of bank products and services to effectively cross-sell online banking services and to refer customers to other bank products. Promote increased customer use of bank products and services to enhance customer satisfaction. Position complies with all banking laws and regulations.
Assist customers in opening and maintaining personal and/or business checking or savings accounts, Certificates of Deposit, Safe Deposit Box, Health Saving Accounts (HSA) or Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processing Transactions: Complete customer transactions in a timely and accurate manner, while exhibiting patience, attention to detail, and in accordance with guidelines and procedures. Perform other duties related to handling money/transactions including, but not limited to, processing deposits, withdrawals, and money transfers; handling credit card advances; accepting loan payments; filling change orders for businesses; sorting, counting, and wrapping money for transfer to vault; operating coin machine, etc.
Balancing and Accuracy: Maintain accurate cash drawer and cash/negotiable instruments are in balance. Maintain appropriate cash limits in drawer. Transactions are processed completely and with accuracy. This includes, but is not limited to, deposits and withdrawals, Currency Transactions Reports, cash advances on credit cards, and foreign currency and check transactions.
Products and Service: Use knowledge of bank products and services to effectively cross-sell appropriate products and services to customers by referring to appropriate team members. Actively participate in bank promotional activities. Perform duties related to branch capture by scanning work at the branch throughout the day; completing appropriate paperwork; and faxing information to the Data Center with run number, number of items, and batches for verification purposes.
Open and maintain personal and/or business checking or savings accounts, safe deposit, HSA’s or IRA’s; enter and update information on accounts; and prepare all the related documentation. Issue and cash Certificates of Deposits; prepare documentation; review terms and calculate penalties and interest if they apply; and notify customers of C.D. renewal deadlines. Investigate and research customer complaints and account problems and recommend alternatives for resolving the complaints/problems. Answer questions and sell the bank’s financial services; cross-sell products and services within the policies, objectives and guidelines established by the bank. Promote the HPC program by handing out Tell A Friend Coupons and explaining the Free Gift and Check Buy-Back programs.
Bundle bank products and services including, but not limited to, Internet Banking, Debit Card services, and Online Bill Pay products/services. Process check orders. Order Debit Check Cards; complete applications; change addresses; respond effectively to customer questions and problems. Maintain and update customer files on the computer system. May maintain documentation and branch files.
Minimum one year of documented cash handling and customer service experience; experience in banking environment.
A high school degree or GED is required.

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Distance vision is required in order to observe persons in the lobby. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal.
