About the Role

This job opportunity is for a Full Time New Account/Teller position located at our downtown Broadway Branch requiring a minimum of 1 year New Account experience. Position that requires extensive customer service skills, positive attitude and expressed enthusiasm. Focus of the position is actively cross-selling Bank products and services for new and/or existing customers by determining their needs and suggesting appropriate products. Will actively contribute to the growth of the Bank’s customer base. Must have ability to work in a team atmosphere. Demonstrates proficiencies with Customer Identification Program (CIP), all aspects of business accounts, e-statements, personal accounts and various correspondence requirements. Proficient with various forms needed to open and close new accounts including certificates of deposit, various deposit accounts, IRA’s, safe deposit box, etc. . Demonstrates a high degree of accountability through utilization of skills, knowledge and actions that protect the assets of Western Security Bank and its customers.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not     limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  2. Demonstrates proficiencies with Customer Identification Program (CIP), all aspects of business accounts, e-statements, personal accounts and various correspondence requirements. All requirements for the position are outlined on the CSS III check-off list.
  3. Must be able to successfully and efficiently complete and process information to meet the customers desired needs.
  4. Proficient with various forms needed to open and close new accounts including certificates of deposit, various deposit accounts, IRA’s, safe deposit box, etc
  5. Responsible for performing various forms of maintenance on customer accounts including deposit accounts, certificate of deposits, safe deposits and CIF.
  6. Proficient with various Jack Henry functions including CIF menu, Deposit menu, time deposit, loan inquire, safe deposit box menu, wire menu, platform, etc.
  7. Be able to effectively communicate the types of accounts available, identify customer benefits, demonstrate successful sales abilities and skills

 

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  2. One year of previous New Account experience and/or previous banking experience preferred.
  3. Experience with cash handling preferred.
  4. Equivalent combination of education and experience.

  1. Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  2. Ability to use listed tools and equipment.
  3. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions/polices
  4. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  5. Ability to establish and maintain effective personal working relationships with peers and supervisors.
  6. Skilled in meeting and greeting the public.
  7. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  8. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  9. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
  10. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  11. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  12. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  13. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  14. Ability to self-start and adapt to change.
  15. Ability to work well under pressure and to pay attention to detail.
  16. Ability to work as a team member to accomplish goals and assist co-workers
