About the Role

Are you are interested in pursuing a rewarding career where your skills and passions can benefit the lives of team members and customers?  If so, consider joining our First Bank of Montana team as a teller/customer service representative in our Chester, Montana location!  Tellers and CSR's provide outstanding service to customers while accurately performing account transactions.  Position uses knowledge of bank products and services to effectively cross-sell online banking services and to refer customers to other bank products. Promotes increased customer use of bank products and services to enhance customer satisfaction. Position complies with all banking laws and regulations. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Offer an exceptional customer experience, help resolve customer concerns by offering products or services to fit their needs and complete transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Engage with customers to develop a positive customer experience; strive to make each interaction the best experience of the customer’s day.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, accurately and efficiently processing customer service transactions.
  • Build relationships with customers, anticipate their needs and educate and demonstrate for customers how to utilize the various customer preference options.
  • Resolve customer problems and help customers to understand their banking options based on their personal preference for doing business with the bank.
  • Serve as the primary contact and advocate between the branch and the customers, making referrals for supporting retail banking colleagues as appropriate.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures; ensure fair and positive treatment of customers and regulatory obligations.
  • Bring a positive energy and confidence to the bank and its customers every day. 

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service that includes cash handling experience preferred.
  • Bank experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Working knowledge of cash handling procedures, banking compliance regulations and guidelines related to area of responsibility, and bank products and services.
  • Skill in the operation and/or use of computer keyboard; office equipment, including calculators, copier, teller audit machines, coin and currency counters, and branch capture equipment.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service; follow instructions; handle numerous detailed transactions quickly and accurately; and effectively cross-sell bank products and services.
  • Ability to regularly be at work during scheduled shifts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

 

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
